Why I switched from Framer to NextJS

Framer is an incredible tool for designing and publishing websites quickly. For many projects, its visual interface and built-in animations make it the perfect choice. However, as my projects grew in complexity, I found myself bumping into limitations. That's why I made the switch to Next.js.

Ultimate Control and Customization

Next.js provides absolute control over the codebase. Whether it's complex state management, custom backend integrations, or highly specific performance optimizations, having access to the underlying React code is invaluable.

The Power of App Router

The introduction of the App Router in Next.js 13+ revolutionized how we structure applications. Server Components and streamlined data fetching patterns allow for incredibly fast initial page loads and improved SEO.

Scalability

While Framer excels at portfolios and landing pages, building full-scale web applications requires a robust framework. Next.js is built for scalability, capable of handling everything from static sites to dynamic, data-heavy platforms.

Conclusion

Framer will always have a place in my toolkit for rapid prototyping and simpler projects. But for delivering complex, high-performance web applications to premium clients, Next.js is the clear winner.
